Article Response

I think it's amazing that after everything he's been through, Samuel Fosso, the "Man of a Thousand Faces", is able to overcome the tragedy and hardship that's been in his life and be strong enough to pursue his creative side. Fosso doesn't let his past weigh him down or hold him back. He is able to show his pride in his culture and backround by taking self-portraits of himself dressed up as different people who have made a difference in the African community somehow. Details aren't overlooked by Fossos either; he is specific enough to wear the same Dutch prints that many African women wear. I like how his pictures have such a wide variety of characters and how you can tell exactly the type of person he is trying to represent. Fosso did an excellent job of pursuing his passion, photography.
